Three weeks in the Maldives

I have just come back from three weeks in the Maldives with my wife. Diving every morning, turquoise water, turtles, mantas and the occasional reef shark looking at me like I was the strange one.
During the day my wife was sunbathing. I, on the other hand, was in the shade with my laptop doing research or joining emergency meetings. The incidents don´t stop because I´m on an island in the Indian Ocean, and the time difference made some of the calls interesting. Breakfast meetings with Europe, lunch with the US.
It says something about our industry. There are simply not enough people who can do this work. When a large incident hits, the same small group of people is called in, wherever they are. I don´t complain. I chose this and I like it. But it isn´t sustainable for everyone.
I came back as pale as always. My wife came back with a perfect tan. And still, I´m completely rested.
Maybe it was the diving. Maybe it was the turtles.
